The Reference Department has its own separate collection of books. Unlike other items in the library, these books do not circulate, and are identified in our online catalogue by the location “Reference”. While the items that are found in the collection are meant to serve a wide audience with different interests and needs, the library also tries to include special interest material that it belives will benefit the public and enhance the value of the collection. The collection has over hundreds of books including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Dictionaries & Encyclopedias
  • Consumer guides
  • Medical books
  • Style manuals & Writing guides
  • Literary guides
  • Foreign language dictionaries
  • Business Directories
  • Atlases
  • Statistics
  • Directories and Almanacs
  • Back issues of the Suburban

3. Electronic Resources:

Our Department also prides itself on its collection of electronic resources, known as "Databases". These resources contain a wide variety of material such as newspaper articles, journal and magazine articles, news transcripts, reference books, and images. All of which can be accessed from within the library or from home through the library website; all you need is the barcode number on the back of your library card.
