Our online catalogue contains our entire collection including thousands of books that can be found in a variety of ways.

Use the Search by Title option, if you know the exact title of the book you are looking for.

1)Go to our online Catalogue
2)Select English
3)Under Search By, click on Title
4)Enter the title of the book (for example: Life of Pi)
5)Then click on Submit Search

Use the Search by Author/Performer/Composer option if you know the exact name of the author who wrote the book you are looking for.

1)Go to our online Catalogue
2)Select English
3)Under Search By, click on Author/Performer/Composer
4)Enter the name of the author, remember to type in the last name first (ex: Patterson, James).
5)Then click on Submit Search

Each book in our collection is given a subject heading, some books have more than one. These subject headings are words that describe what the book is about and have been assigned using Library of Congress guidelines. If you do not retrieve any results using the subject search, try using Word Search

The Search by Subject option, can be used in two different ways.

1) To find books about a particular person, such as biographies, memoirs or interviews.

1)Go to our online Catalogue
2)Select English
3)Under Search By, click on Subject
4)Enter the name of the person, remember to type in the last name first, then click on Submit Search.

For Example:

Shakespeare, William
Clinton, Bill
King, Martin Luther

1)Go to our online Catalogue
2)Select English
3)Under Search By, click on Subject
4)Enter in the subject you are looking for (ex: Gardening)

This will retrieve a list of books about Gardening

Use the Search by Word option if you are looking for books on a particular topic. Compared to Search by Subject, this is the most flexible way to search our catalogue for books. Search by Word can also be very helpful when you don't know the full title or author of the book you are looking for.

1)Go to our online Catalogue
2)Select English
3)Under Search By, click on Word
4)Enter the topic (for example: abstract art), then click on Submit Search.

The Advanced Search option works just like the Search by Word, but it also allows you to apply limits to your search. Applying limits is useful when you want to reduce the number of results you will retrieve.

1)Go to our online Catalogue
2)Select English
3)Under Search By, click on Advanced Search
4)In the search box type in the words: American politics
5)Next, select Book from the pull down menu beside Material Type
6)Next, select Adult Book Collection from the pull down menu beside Location
7)Next, type in 2000 in the box marked After beside Year of Publication.
8)Then click on Submit

This will limit your search to books only that are located in the Adult collection and published after the year 2000.
