The Hachette Encyclopedia Online provides access to 50000 encyclopedia articles. It also serves as a French language dictionary covering over 65 000 definitions and an atlas complete with geopolitical and thematic maps.

Included in the encyclopedia are a conjugation table for more than 5000 verbs and links to Internet sites.

World Book Online is the source for accurate information on a wide array of topics ranging from countries to world events to arts and science. This comprehensive site includes all of the articles from the 22-volume print set, plus thousands more. In addition, there are more than 9,500 pictures and maps, 115 videos and animations, 9,300 sounds, 129 panoramic 360° views, and more than 100 simulated historic Web sites. This database also features a dictionary and an atlas.

Canadian Newsstand:
Canadian Newsstand offers unparalleled access to the full text of Canadian newspapers. Coverage: 1980’s – present. (There is a two-day delay for most recent newspaper articles.)

CBCA Reference:
This collection provides in depth access to a wide diversity of Canadian periodicals, ranging from academic titles to special interest publications to general magazines. Some articles are available in full-text. Coverage: Varies depending on the title.

CBCA Current Events:
This collection includes Canadian titles focusing on current events. Coverage: Varies depending on the title

Globe and Mail Canada's Heritage from 1844:
Canada's Heritage From 1844 is the electronic full-page newspaper archive of The Globe from June 1844 to The Globe and Mail until December 1999. Includes all the stories, plus thousands of images, advertisements, classifieds, political cartoons, births and deaths from Canada's National Newspaper, dating back to the pre-confederation era. Articles are full text.

Coverage: 1844 – 2001. There is a two year delay.

Contemporary Authors: Is a biographical, critical and bibliographical guide to current writers in fiction, general nonfiction, poetry, journalism, drama, motions pictures, television, and other fields

Contemporary Literary Criticism: Provides excerpts of criticism on the works of novelists, poets, playwrights, short story writers, and scriptwriters.

Dictionary of Literary Biography: Provides coverage of notable American, Canadian, and international authors throughout history and places writers in the larger perspective of literary history.
