Is there a Cure for the modern life?

Is there a Cure for the modern life?

Lately when I’ve been asked if I’ve read any good books the first thing out of my mouth is The cure for the modern life by Lisa Tucker. Although a little far fetched, would you really invite three homeless people to spend the night in your home? Tucker really does cover some serious ethical subjects such as homelessness, drug use, addiction and corporate greed, all the while weaving in a touching love story.

Matthew Connelly an ambitious and slightly ruthless pharmaceuticals executive is an unlikely guardian for a home-less ten-year old boy and his baby sister, but that’s exactly where he finds himself.

Lisa Tucker's The Cure for Modern Life is a novel about what it means in the twenty-first century to be responsible, to care about other people, and to do the right thing."--BOOK JACKET

"An enjoyable literary page-turner that also explores serious social issues. In crisp, lively prose, Tucker cleverly executes a series of surprising twists that, coupled with the Big Pharma backdrop and cinematic feel, make the novel as fast-paced as a thriller, but with astute and often humorous observations about the shifting morality of 21st-century America. An excellent choice for book clubs...solidifies her position as a gifted writer with a wide range and a profound sense of compassion for the mysteries of the human heart."-- From Publisher’s weekly
