Inter Library Loan

The Eleanor London Cote Saint Luc Public Library provides an Inter-Library-Loans (ILL) service to its patrons.

If the library does not own a certain book we can attempt to borrow it from another library, through our ILL service, according to the following criteria:

  • The patron requesting the book must be a member of the Adult library in good standing.--The request should be made at the Reference Desk, in person or by telephone.
  • The book requested is not required for school or a course.
  • The book was published at least one year prior to the date of the ILL request.
  • The patron is prepared to wait for the book until we are either able to obtain it, or we are not successful in finding it.
  • Audiovisual materials cannot be borrowed through the ILL service.
  • A member can have a maximum of two books at any one time.
  • All books borrowed must be returned to the Reference Desk only, and handed to a Reference Librarian.
  • All members requesting books through the ILL service must respect the due date and return the book on time.
  • A fine of $2.00 per day will be charged for books brought back late for each day after the due date.
  • The ILL service is free to patrons when requesting books from libraries in Canada.
  • For any questions regarding the ILL service, contact the Reference Librarian.
