General Rules

1. Please note that all rules are subject to change.

2. Only the library member may use his or her card.

3. Anyone wanting to borrow material from the library using another person’s cannot do so, even if they are a family member.

4. Memberships can only be created when all of the required documents are presented. There are no exceptions to this rule.

5. All cheques should be made out to Eleanor London Public Library or City of Côte Saint-Luc Library. Payments made in cash must be in the exact amount.

RESIDENTS OF CÔTE SAINT-LUC

New members who want to join the library must present themselves in person at the Circulation Desk. One person cannot register another, whether they are a relative or not.

Adults (18 years and older):
· $5 membership fee
· proof of address (e.g. driver’s license or
Hydro bill. Leases or tax bills are not
accepted as proof of address)

Teenagers (aged 13 –17):
· $5 membership fee and Medicare card
· current school year ID card with photo and address on it OR report card with name and address on it.

Children (12 years and under):
· $5 membership fee and Medicare card
· current school year ID card with photo and address on it OR report card with name and address on it. Parent’s ID is accepted, as for Adults (above).

RESIDENTS OF HAMPSTEAD


Residents of Hampstead who joined the library between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2005, must bring a Hampstead voucher to the library in order to reactivate their membership. New members are also required to bring identification as explained above and $5. Vouchers can be acquired at the Irving Adessky Community Centre. For more information please call 514-369-8260. Memberships are valid for the current year.

RESIDENTS OF MONTREAL WEST


Residents of Montreal West who joined the library between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2005, must bring a Montreal West voucher to the library in order to reactivate their membership. New members are also required to bring identification as explained above and $5. Vouchers can be acquired at the Montreal West Town Hall.

NON-RESIDENTS


Memberships are valid for one year.

Adults (18 years and older):

· $175 membership fee
· proof of address (e.g. driver’s license or
Hydro bill. Leases or tax bills are not
accepted as proof of address).


Seniors (65 years and older):
· proof of age required
· $100 membership fee
· proof of address (e.g. driver’s license or
Hydro bill. Leases or tax bills are not
accepted as proof of address).


Teenagers (aged 13 –17):

· $100 membership fee and Medicare card
· current school year ID card with photo and address on it OR report card with name and address on it. Parent’s ID is accepted, as for Adults (above).

Children (12 years and under):
· $100 membership fee and Medicare card
· current school year ID card with photo and address on it OR report card with name and address on it. Parent’s ID is accepted, as for Adults (above).

Families:
· $300 membership fee
· proof of address (e.g. driver’s license or Hydro bill. Leases or tax bills are not accepted as proof of address).
· family members under 12 must present their Medicare card
